Recipe Book
Can't remember how to craft something? The Recipe Book shows every special item on the server.
Learn how
Open it
/nova itemsopen the Recipe Book
Using the book
Items are grouped by type: machines, cables, jetpacks, hammers, backpacks, cooking and more.
Left-click an item to see how to craft it.
Right-click an item to see what it's used for.
Use the arrows at the bottom to flip pages.
π‘ Good to know: Some recipes need a machine instead of a crafting table (like a Pulverizer or a Cooking Pot). The book shows which one.
π― Try this! Open the book and find the recipe for a Basic Jetpack. What do you need first?
Put an invisible fence around your stuff so only you (and friends) can change it.
Learn how
How to claim
Get a golden shovel and hold it.
Right-click one corner of your land.
Walk to the opposite corner and right-click again.
You'll see glowing blocks showing your new claim!
Useful commands
/trust Namelet a friend build in your claim
/untrust Nametake it away again
/abandonclaimremove the claim you're standing in
π‘ Good to know: You start with 100 claim blocks and earn more just by playing. Your very first chest makes a small claim around it automatically. Hold a stick and right-click to see claims near you.
π― Try this! Claim the land around your house, then use the stick to see your claim's edges.
A little map in the corner of your screen so you never get lost.
Learn how
The minimap is on when you join. The middle is you, and it turns as you walk.
Change it
/minimap disablehide the map
/minimap enablebring it back
/minimap scale 2zoom out (try 1, 2, 4 or 8)
/minimap side rightmove it to the other side (left or right)
/minimap style roundround or square map
/minimap radar enableshow nearby players and mobs as dots
π‘ Size vs zoom:/mm works too (short for /minimap). The map is already as big on your screen as it can be (the same for everyone); scale is how far it zooms out: 1 = close-up, 8 = see far away.
π‘ Good to know: The map fills in as you explore, so new places start out blank. You need the resource pack (say Yes when you join) for the map to show.
π― Try this! Zoom out with /minimap scale 4 and find the nearest river.
Nobody can hurt you unless you both turn on Battle Mode.
Learn how
How it works
Everyone starts with Battle Mode OFF π‘οΈ. Other players can't hurt you, your pets, or your horse.
If you and a friend both turn it on, you can have a battle βοΈ.
Commands
/pvp onturn Battle Mode on
/pvp offturn it off again
π‘ Good to know: During a battle you can't teleport home for a few seconds, so no running away! You also get 5 seconds of safety after you join or teleport.
π― Try this! Ask a friend for a fair battle: same armor, same sword, best of 3. Shake hands after! π€
New crops, kitchen tools and yummy meals that give you super powers!
Learn how
π§Ύ Quick guide: No Stove here! Put a Cooking Pot on a campfire for big meals, slice food on a Cutting Board with a knife, make sandwiches, salads and pies on a crafting table, and cook bacon, patties and eggs in a campfire, furnace or smoker. Full cheat sheet
1. Find wild crops π±
Look for Wild Cabbage, Wild Onions and Wild Tomatoes growing in nature (in new, unexplored land), and Wild Rice by the water in jungles and swamps. Break them to get seeds, then plant them at home!
Rice grows in a shallow puddle of water, one block deep.
Pack your harvest into crates, a Rice Bag or Straw Bales.
2. Build your kitchen πͺ
Knife (flint, iron, gold, diamond or netherite): cuts grass into straw and gets extra food from animals.
Cutting Board: hold a knife and right-click food on it to slice it.
Cooking Pot: put it on a campfire (or magma block) to cook big meals!
There's no Stove or Skillet on our server. A campfire under the pot does the job.
3. Eat for super powers β
Make hamburgers, stews, pies, pasta, roast chicken and lots more. Big meals give you:
Comfort ποΈ: your hearts heal on their own, even when you're a little hungry.
Nourishment π²: you don't get hungry for a while.
π‘ Good to know: Every recipe is in the Recipe Book (/nova items, then the Farmer's Delight tab). You can also make Dog Food for pet wolves.
π― Try this! Find wild tomatoes, grow some, and cook a Hamburger. Eat a big meal before your next adventure or Boss Night!
Once you have armor, monster patrols may find you at night. Beat them for tokens!
Learn how
How it works
New players with no armor are never bothered.
Better armor = tougher monsters: Bone Rattlers, then Crypt Crawlers, then a Grave Guard Captain.
You always get a warning first. Run about 40 blocks away to escape.
Safe places: spawn, your claimed land, and daytime on the surface.
Tokens
Monsters drop Bone Tokens. Captains drop Knight Sigils. Trade them with Old Bones the Trader in his stall at the Haunted Keep (spawn) for arrows, food, shields, iron and diamond gear!
/events offcalm mode: no events for you
/events onbring them back
π― Try this! Collect 12 Bone Tokens and trade them for an iron chestplate.
Watch out! Some monsters have names and are tougher than normal ones.
Learn how
What to know
Monsters with a name floating above them, like the Skeletal Knight, are special. They hit harder and take longer to beat. The biggest of all, the Skeleton King, only shows up on Boss Night. The Monster Field Guide has every one, with tips to beat them!
β οΈ Be ready: Wear armor and bring food before fighting a named monster. Team up with a friend!
π― Try this! Spot a named monster (from a safe distance!) and tell a friend what it was called.
Jumping courses you can race through. None are built yet. Maybe you could help design one!
Learn how
When courses are ready, you'll join one with /parkour join CourseName. Keep an eye on this page!
π― Try this! Draw or build your idea for a parkour course and show an admin.
No powers match that. Try a different word!
π Ranks
Everyone starts as an Explorer. Build great things and be kind to earn more! Your rank shows as a colored tag over your head, in chat and in the Tab list: [Explorer][Builder][World Builder][Helper][Admin]
π§ Explorer
That's you! Survival, homes, claims, pets, machines and Boss Night.
βοΈ Builder
Your own plot in the creative Builder World with WorldEdit superpowers. Builder's Guide
π WorldBuilder
Trusted builders who can use WorldEdit in the survival world too.
π Helper
Parents and grown-ups who help keep things kind. Need one? Type /helpop.
β Admin
Runs the server and gives out ranks. Ask an admin if you'd like to become a Builder!
π€ Play together
Games you can play with friends. Ask an admin to help set one up!
π Boss Night
Gather 2+ friends at a Boss Altar near any Ghost Train station, pick a door, and beat the Skeleton King together! How it works
π Feast Party
Everyone cooks a different meal from the Cooking card, then share a picnic before a big adventure.
ποΈ Build Contest
Pick a theme like βcastleβ or βspaceshipβ, build for 20 minutes, then everyone votes.
π Hide and Seek
One seeker counts to 60 at spawn while everyone hides. Crouch so your name tag is harder to see!
πΊοΈ Treasure Hunt
Someone hides a chest and gives clues with coordinates (press F3 to see where you are).
π Jetpack Race
Once you have jetpacks, race from spawn to a far-away mountain and back!
βοΈ Fair Battles
Friends who both turn on /pvp on can have a fair duel. Same gear, best of 3.
π§ Behind the scenes
Tools the admins use to keep the server running.
π CoreProtect
Remembers every block placed or broken, so admins can undo griefing. Being sneaky doesn't work here, so be kind!
